Emergent is a program that focuses on providing opportunities to documentary creators in order to reach their audience, expand their stories and help create a better world.
Not only through financial support but through the expertise of its team, Emergent provides a comprehensive strategy to catapult a story born from any scale to the worldwide stage. We provide mentorship from a special pool of experts in the industry to empower emerging project leaders with meaningful connections and resources with practical value.
In order to best inspire and support the creators who haven’t found a way to fully tell their story, be it because of geographical, political, personal or financial reasons we see the need to also support the projects that bring the biggest potential and the bigger concepts, all at the service of an exceptional selection of culturally and philosophically diverse projects from all over the world. This duality is at the core of Emergent’s founding.

Changing the Game
This intimate story takes us into the lives of three high school athletes from across the US -- all at different stages of their athletic seasons, sharing their lives as transgender teens. Each story is led by the brave and individual voices of these students, allowing extremely personal and vulnerable access into their journeys. These courageous kids offer us the opportunity to see the world through their eyes -- and share their struggles and successes along the way while also challenging the boundaries and perceptions of fairness and discrimination.
Released in 2019.

In September 2020, groups of women, mothers of the disappeared and survivors of gender violence took over the National Human Rights Commission in Mexico City due to the inaction of the government to protect them and turned it into a shelter.

Susurros en el viento
The voice of a Wichi indigenous sage takes us on a journey through time, where humans and nature speak the same language. The trees cry out their messages to the wind and this old man hears them clearly. In his bag he carries the seeds of life to face the destruction of his community's native forest. A mission begins to save the forest and share the teachings of this wise man, one of the last survivors of a community about to be extinct.
